I think I read that a 5300 could run 9.1 and it is not a G3.
--snip-- Spence, just curious how much RAM do you have in that 1400? I have 48 MB in mine and when I tried to install 9.1 it didn't work. Mine is also running the stock 133mHz processor, not a G3.

I've got the max--64megs of RAM. But I think your problem is that OS 9.1 requires a minimum of a G3 processor (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
