Ordinarily I've gotten dialup connection speeds between 28800 and 31300 with a 6100 using an external 56k modem. Last week I connected a Powerbook G3 to the internet with speeds consistently between 45500 and 46000. The G3 has an 56k internal modem, 288 MB RAM, and a 500 Mhz Sonnet G3 accelerator. Obviously, I'm ecstatic about the increased speed bcause web pages pop up very quickly, so I'm not displeased, only curious. What would account for the increased dialup speeds?
