The manual (on the disk) talks about having to input in hex and gives a hexadecimal conversion chart. I don't have the manual with me (disk or the printout I made) but I think the hex was only necessary for a couple of situations. (the 3 WiFi networks I've connected to so far have all been open public ones and I haven't had to try my hand at hex conversions.)
