Could anyone please tell me if "mac id wannabe" mentioned above is a program and if
so, where can it be found or downloaded from?
I would like to use a usb card in my 3400 running system 9.1. It already works with
system 8.6. Could someone please provide more specific instructions about how I do
this with system 9?
Thanks very much

Sure.

Apple doesn't like rework as it increases manufacturing cost and reduces reliability.
Not withstanding that, some low volume boards have rework for their entire lifetime.
The second revision of the LaserWriter Plus I/O board comes immediately to mind.

The 5xx's PCMCIA Rev. B card cage's PCB was probably "rolled" as they eliminated the
need for rework.

The Rev. C board was dramatically different from the A and B.

I joined this List last week after I bought a
PowerBook 3400c from the LEM SWAP List. It showed up
on Friday evening and I've been playing with it. Its
got a 3 gig HD, Floppy & 12X CD, 240 MHz processor and
144 Megs of RAM. I've wanted one of these since April
1997 but was reluctant to shell out an OUTRAGEOUS
amount of money.

I asked about accessories on the SWAP List and was
offered a Targus carry bag and a BookEndz 3400 (which
are still in the mail) and two brand new Macintosh
Kanga G3 batteries (showed up Friday).

According to the little battery utility the charged
battery is good for over 3 hours.

Do I need to drain and recharge the battery a few
times to "condition" it or is that a thing of the past
???
