I actually got a couple questions about this, and I thought a few folks might be more interested.

The 3400c and 2400c _can_ run OS X 10.0.0 through 10.1.4. It's not supported by Apple, but XPostFacto will get them running. There are some issues - PC Card support is spotty, LCD brightness is fixed, and sound volume isn't adjustable.

10.2 won't run on a 603e (yet, according to the developers of XPostFacto). This page has slightly more info:
