I have had borderline heat problems withmy 183 MHz PPC ever since I got it.
Essentially the very best I can do is ensure I have very good contact with the
original but carefully modified and fitted heat sink and even still it usually
overheats in about an hour if the room temp is over 65 degrees. Just very
slightly annoying. I am thinking of having a friend of mine with a machine shop
machine me a nice heat sink out of copper or bronze or even Inconel 60 so that
the heat sink will absorb more and radiate it slightly better in a confined
space. The only way I have found to completely overcome the situation is to
leave the keyboard and RF shield off and use the unit with an external keyboard.
Then it runs just about forever.
