Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions for my sickly Zip Cartridge. The winning
magic was using Disk Warrior 2.0. It churned for a while and complained about
everything on the disk being wrong, and then reported: Rebuilding Directory Structure,
Repairing Volume Info, Repairing Critical Volume Info, and within each of the
categories there was a long list of items which were changed. The clicking stopped,
the image appeared on the desktop, and the files were off loaded to a CD. (Just in
case). The program then asked if I would like to save its directory and after saying
yes, the disk now appears to be normal. "Power on and off" tricks, "gentle nudging",
Norton Tools, Iomega Tools, and Disk Repair, were all useless but I can recommend
whole heartedly Disk Warrior 2.0! It was able to change my "Click of Death" into only
a "Click of Faint."
