Okay, no big deal right? Wrong. Went into the Ext Manager and clicked it
on, and restarted.. When I restart I get an ext error message and have to
reboot and hold shift.. Boots up with no problem. So I deleted it, and
grabbed it off of my 540c PPC upgraded laptop also running 8.1, no dice..
Any ideas?

Re-install OT from the 8.1 OS CD. (It's a custom install, but you can re-install just that.)
