Hi, the video on my 3400c seems to have suddenly gone crazy! The 'book was sleeping when I went to use it this afternoon. I picked it up and opened it, it woke up and the display was fine. I carried it (slightly open) to another room to plug in the power adapter. I set it down and walked across the room to check something. When I turned back the display was a mess!
I tried rebooting, reset button in the back, and even checked the connection between the logic board and the video ribbon cable. The display alternates between a series of thin multi-colored vertical lines and a white background with three wide yellow stripes down the center. I hooked up an external monitor and everything is fine. Though that gives me a blank display on the powerbook, not mirrored video. Does this seem like a damaged screen or maybe just a bad ribbon cable? I've put a new hard drive in the laptop before but how do i disassemble it enough to get the screen apart? Thanks.
