my powerbook (3400/200/144) crashed last night, I was running system
8.6. Something happened during the crash. I sort of lost part of the
system since the computer was always crashing towards the end of the
boot process, eventually the dreaded ? I went ahead and did a clean
install of system 9.0.4. I remember that there was a problem reading the
quickTime folder. I chose the skip option to proceed with the install.
Now my computer is not reading anything requiring QuickTime. This is the
message I get when I try to install QuickTime from the apple site :
'Could not load plug - in. 'QuickTime Plug - in 6.0.2' for the MIME type
'video/quicktime'. Make sure enough memory is available and that the
plug-in is installed correctly.
Anybody know away out of this?
TIA.
Peter.
