And, the EtherLink III cards are so insanely common that people are literally giving them away some places. I came by three for the cost of "make them disappear" ... sorry, they're all in use :) Even if you can't find them 'cheap as [sic] free', you can get them for as low as a couple bucks at swaps and ham gear fests and those sort of places.
