The original Stylewriter is small and almost portable. The Stylewriter II and 1200 are also fairly small. All 3 use a Canon BC-02 black ink cartridge which was used in many, many printers. Refil kits are readily available and most are easy to use. None are color capable. I have personally used each of these (and still have them!) and like them. Drivers available from Apple's website.
A more recent option would be one of the portable Stylewriters (the exact numbers escape me at the moment) or a Canon BJC-85, BJC-55; both can be used with color or high-capacity black ink tanks. Some may be able to use a special scanner module to become a sheet-fed scanner. I have never used any of these personally. More information available at their respective websites. Hope this help and good luck!
