I have a PB 170 with the same OS. The HD in the thing is a LaCie 500mb 
formatted with SilverLining. As such it is not seen or accessible using 
either NUM or HD/SC. Perhaps you have the same "problem?"

If so, you may have to find a copy of SilverLining to get at the drive.
