Both the 1400 and 3400 use standard IDE notebook drives. I can't see why it wouldn't work, unless 7.6.x needed an enabler to run on the 3400c. Really, though, in my opinion the best thing you can do for a 3400 is to give it a newer hard drive. I've tried a 3400 with the stock drive, and compared to mine with a newer 12GB drive (bought on this list), it's a huge difference. > ALSO... the 3400c I have is the 180mhz; are the 200 and 240mhz THTA much > faster..? MacBench4 says no. It says the 180 MHz scores at 293, the 200 MHz at 308 and the 240 MHz at 337. But that's a very old benchmark, and I know a friend of mine with a 3400/180 won't even run iTunes 2.0.4 because of unacceptable performance, but my 3400/240 has no problem at all. To me, that says something different. You can, however, hack a 3400/180 to run at well over 200 MHz without a hitch, or so I am told. The only thing I don't like about the 3400 is that the CPU isn't on a daughtercard. I would love to be able to drop a fast G3 or G4 in there. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
