I have been unsuccessfully trying for 3 days to charge up a brand new
shrink-wrapped BTI battery for my 540c.

I thought I was successful tonight. I unplugged the PB (after it was plugged
in all night and all afternoon) and hit the power key to boot it. It booted
fine and after one minute it beeped at me and said it had no reserve power
and would shut down...it did. The battery icon in the menu bar appeared to
be full. But obviously it wasn't...or is that a power manager problem (how
do you reset the power manager on a 500 series)?

The other problem I am experiencing is loosing connection with the battery.
The first time I tried to boot the PB I hit the power key and it started
fine and after a few extensions had finished loading I picked it up and I
guess I flexed the body slightly and it just shut off. I tried the power key
again and nothing...so I pushed on the plastic housing to the right of the
trackpad and than it booted.

Has anyone had these problems? Is there a fix or websites pertaining to
these problems. I have no reason to believe the batteries are bad. I do
believe the charging problem might be related to the connection problem I
mentioned.

Please help and thanks,

MaxTek
