I'm new to this forum; just recently upgraded my powerbook. All the upgrading works, but alas, I can't print to this printer (the only printer I've tried) from the 3400c. The printer will switch to on when the print is sent, but fails during initialization. Also, the printer does print from a 6100.
3400c is running 8.6, stylewriter driver is the one from 8.6, not from the original disks. I have them, but read not to use them but instead use the later driver from the later OS.
3400c has 144 RAM, 12 GB HD, wireless. However, it didn't print when it had it's original memory and hard drive, no wireless, either! I hoped that it was because it had so little RAM, but no luck.
I've tried different combinations of sharing on / off, different network port selections, still no luck. I choose the printer / modem port in chooser.
One very knowledgeable user said to turn off QuickDraw GX but I didn't have that installed. I do remember reading about that in the original manual that came with the printer.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks!
