Anyhoo. I was thinking maybe I could do the same (I use Brickhouse - seriously good utility that!!) from LAN to Airport on my iMac?

Mark,

I already wrote back saying that you can do this in your "3400c acquired" thread.

What OS are you running on the iMac? Probably OS X, right? Well, I can't help you with OS X setup (maybe someone else here can, though), but in OS 9 (AirPort 2.0.4) it's VERY easy to set up AirPort as a software base station!

Just open AirPort, hit the software base station button, and specify the settings (channel, SSID, WEP key, etc). You can even use NAT and DHCP. Easy as pie. To make things even easier, there is a help topic in the Help Viewer on setting up a computer as a software base station.

Peace,
Drew
