I'm using a Skyline 802.11b card right now in my 5300 to write this message, so I can attest that it works fine. :)

I'm not sure about these two cards.
Not only are the Proxim Orinoco / Lucen WaveLAN / Agere something or other cards 16-bit, they also have Mac drivers and will work with Mac OS as far back as System 7.5.2.
Well, I'm using strictly WaveLAN chipset (ORiNOCO brand, Agere brand, etc) cards on my PowerBooks (various flavors of 5300, Wallstreet, Pismo) absolutely flawlessly! :-P
Not to disagree that the Skyline cards work well, but I think his point was that "best bet" may not be exactly correct. Both cards will probably work fine (as will the MacWireless card). However, there are considerably more WaveLAN-based cards available and at pretty low prices (below $40, even)...
Well you can get a Skyline at:

for $20. I'm using one now on my Wallstreet under OS X. It includes drivers for earlier Mac OS versions. I started with an Orinoco Gold card but switched to this card as it has a skinny antenna that lets another card with connector sit above it.
