I tried installing the Orinoco drivers on a 190 running 7.5.5 w/24MB RAM. I get a -192 error. I also tried the WaveLAN drivers, it reports that a conflicting driver drvr.enet0 is installed and must be removed first. The 190 also has a GV Platinum card in it which I removed and disabled the extensions for but I still get the same error.
That much I know. You must use ResEdit to remove DRVR.ENET0 from the system file. while I got the drivers to load, I too never got things to work. The 802.11 card would not show up as a transport option in the TCP/IP control panel.
I wonder... Could you just rename the DRVR.ENET0 to ENET1 and change the code to show Ethernet (Slot 1) instead of Ethernet (Slot 0) in the AppleTalk & TCP/IP control panels?
Hmmmm... Worth a hack sometime when I've got a pair of conflicting drivers, I suppose. Anyone else want to try?
