Bookies,
O.k., I got the520c running fine with a 603e/166 32 mgs ram and
500 mg HD OS 8.1 IE&OE 5, online and netted to myt Lan. It would boot fine
from the power supply and with the batteries in place, I could unplug the
cord and it would run fine. But, if I shut it down, it would not boot (or
make a peep at all) from the start button . . .so, I booted it up with
the cord, unplugged the cord, selected re-start from the Special pulldown
menu and it re-booted with the cord gone, no prob, and now it will boot
from shut down with just the batteries. Question: what was re-set by going
through the motions I went through. I'd like to really understand that
part rather than let it pass with "maybe this" or probably that."
