On my 1400cs there is only one connection for a printer and modem. Is there some other device that I can use so that I don't have to unplug and plug to print and then unplug and plug to go back to the modem?

A Mini-DIN 8 T-switch would avoid changing plugs. The only simple way to use both simultaneously is with a PC Card modem.
