I can't say whether this would work, but I'm dying to have someone with 
a Blackbird PCMCIA cardcage tell me if this works for them:

I have no idea if this will work, but I'd be very grateful if you'd like
to give it a spin. Probably it will work, though -- just make sure you
backup your System Folder before installing the Extension, just in case
(you can just _D_uplicate it in the Finder).
