KG,

    Believe the part you are actually seeking is the power supply board, the PMU
is actually a chip on the logic board.  I have 3 machines with a similar problem
and used the same troubleshooting mechanism you did, without resolution.  The
first machine I fixed, I did so by replacing the Power supply Board, the other 3
were no joy (the procedure we're using is also the same as recommended in the
Apple service manual).
