New problem for me...
I have both batteries inserted and the power adapter hooked up. Still, will
not power up. I have reset the power manager, unplugged and let sit for a
few days then plugged back in, left it plugged in for a few days, nothing
seems to work.
I am going to check the power adapter tonight.
I know that my main batteries are bad, and I believe the backup to be dead
too...could it be a bad backup battery? I just replaced it a few years ago
but (when it was working) if I unplugged the power, then all of the prefs
(date, memory, etc.) were reset.
Try booting it without the batteries in it at all. If it boots, just shut it down normally and then boot it again (still without batteries installed,) and reset the PRAM (option - apple - p - r though it sounds like you know the drill) and let it gong through about four or five times and then let it boot. When if boots. install the batteries and then the machine might even recognize them as well and should boot with them installed. Of course, the latter part of this is all circumstantial. only if the machine boots without batteries installed, but give it a try and see if she gongs away!
