Hi List, Just a quick note to say thanks for the help. I got a new PRAM battery from http://members.aol.com/dnmonk/powerbooks/ with very good instructions (once I worked out what "clutch covers" were). What a good chap Donny is too. Thanks again to everyone who pointed me to him.
