Hi Powerbooks Listers,
Earlier I wrote:
Last night I created an alias for iTunes and when I tried to take the " alias ' out of the title. I got a message saying there was already a document by that name. I tried again and a couple of other aliases disappeared. things got worse. Attempts to boot from the CD to use Disk First Aid
resulted in freezes and lockups. The cursor moved but nothing could be accessed. Today I tried to boot in disk modw and not there is no " bong "
@ @ @
Using the reset button on the back I got the machine to boot. However it was hard to tell as the screen stays dark except when the reset button is pushed. using Disk First Aid from my 9600 the 1400 was scanned for repair. It reports that Disk First Aid cannot repair the errors and reports them as :
" Problem: Keys out of order,4,70 "
Does anyone know what this means ?
Also Drive Setup reports no bad blocks.
I have tried to Zap the PRAM and NVRAM as stated in the manual but the result was only being able to boot in disk mode.
Any suggestions ?
TIA
