Thanks guys. I've found an archive of "Coolcam 2.3" on the web, but had trouble googling it. It's now EvoCAM and the website doesn't say anything about "coolcam" anymore, no downloads or anything. But Evocam supports OS 8 and up (including X) and so does CoolCAM 2.3, so I guess it's a recent name change.
This rules out the SE30, but I can set up the 5300. I just hate to leave a 5300 running all the time...
BTW I had some issues replying if I included any of Dan K's text, the listserv would tell me I was using Windows-1252 char set and the list only accepts ISO-8859-1; I'm using OS 10.2.8, Mail.app, text only, and I highly doubt my char set switched...
