A kind lister directed me to the Proxim software download, and all is rolling along! Big Bruce; I cannot remember what the new interface was in my TCP/IP offhand, but the Proxim software did the trick on my 550c (8.1) and my 1400c (8.5). My 550c started recognizin' the Proxim card finally, and I was being bombarded w/ software update offers & ads in no time(!). But... I have noticed that the 802.11b wireless on ALL of my powerbooks, from my 3400c/180 to my 550c/183, seems slower than when I use 802.11b ethernet/wired on either... how much s-l-o-w-e-r is WiFI compared to 10BaseT? (Sorry about my ignorance in advance, this is my 1st venture into "The Golden Age Of Wireless...!") Yeah, that's right... a "Thomas Dolby" reference!! Craig W.
