I have a PB190 with system 7.6.1 I can connect to my isp with FreePPP 2.6.2
at least it makes all the noises, asks for password and says it is connected When I try to go online with Netscape 4.08 I get a message: "The proxy automatic configuration file could not be loaded. Check the proxy automatic configuration URL in preferences. No proxies will be used. (OK button)" I push OK, then get: "Netscape was unable to create a network socket connection. There may be insufficient system resources or the networking may be down. (Reason:) Try connecting again later or try restarting Netscape. (OK button)" I cannot find anything in preferences about proxy configurations. Am I missing something? The powerbook was used previously on a network, not with a modem. Thanks, Brad Calvert Melbourne, Australia restarting or connecting again does not help either. ------------------------------------------------------------ This email was sent from Netspace Webmail: http://www.netspace.net.au -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
