Many cards are simple rebrandings of other cards.

The ALI chipset is one which is used in USB 1.1/2.0 Cardbus cards. Seems
to work OK in my Wallstreet II and my modified Kanga.

The ALI chipset which supports USB (1.1 and 2.0) as well as Firewire in
one combo Cardbus card will not work for Firewire in those machines,
however.

PPA International, Inc is one brand which uses the ALI chipsets, and it's
certainly possible that D-Link is another.

The PPA International cards say Windoze and Mac OS X compatibility on the
box, but inside the manual they say Mac OS 9 compatible.

There is a PDF supplied on CD-ROM which details Mac compatibility
requirements, and it is simple and to the point: no drivers are required
(or supplied) for Mac OS 9 or for Mac OS X, contrary to what is implied
on the box cover.

I originally obtained the PPA International combo Cardbus card because I
have digicams which support USB only (Fuji S1) and Firewire and USB (Fuji
S2), but that approach didn't work out.
