So, what is the deal w/ these things anyway? Are they prone to failure, or is 
it just the ones I have?

I seems like 1/2 of the 190/5300 AC adapters I have EVER SEEN either do not 
work at all, work if the cord is put into a particular position(!), or work for 
a few minutes then stop.

Other than the few Apple made that can overheat, is this simply the worst AC 
Adapter Apple made?

Other than that "Sienfeldian" rant, I am also wondering, since the 
rock-steady AC adapters used from the Powerbook 1400/2400/3400/G3 is a 45W unit w/ a 
different plug, have any of the more technical-minded out there ever tried to 
graft a AC plug from a 3400 onto a 5300 mobo?

Just wondering...
