Your idea of acceptable performance and mine do not coincide. You couldn't
pay me to use IE on a 5300 or a stock 1400, even running OS 8.1. I won't use
it even on a 3400...or on a PC, for that matter.

I can't understand why iCab would perform badly for you, though. It uses a
smaller RAM footprint and is coded specifically for a Mac, not ported from
Windows like IE and Netscape. You've got to be running on major VM with that
setup, maybe iCab can't run in VM very well.

I didn't think of Opera before, but it should work well on a 1400cs, also.
I've never been a big fan of it. I run iCab most of the time and Netscape
4.79 when I find a page iCab won't render. (My setup is a PB3400c/240,
144MB, OS 9.1)
