no, not for this purpose; the console dumps to the serial port of the unix box; to read it, I have to be hooked to the serial port of the box at 155k baud 8 N 1 via null modem connection. Nothing comes out tlp0: until the thing gets booted and run ( and dmesg output goes to console first too). I borrow my wifes Dell laptop for this, but owuld like to use my 1400.
I've got ethernet (and a crossover cable for my 1400, too) but it just won't help here. I'll try that other app that was mentioned but it's like another hardware limitation of owning a 1400.
