Dan Palka wrote, <I remember there being a program back in the day that I installed on my 3400c and some other machines that made finder windows appear instantly instead of being slightly delayed so the little zooming lines animation could play.
I'd like to have that again on 9.2.2... that tiny delay annoys the heck out of me.> Then Brian wrote, <you aren't talking about SPeed doubler are you? It's a handy little program that came on one floppy. Sound familiar?> Ohhhhh.....is THAT what Speed Doubler is for? I have it on a HD I have on my G3 running OS 8.1 (haven't checked the OS 9.1 HDs on that machine for it yet) -- but truth be told I don't know where in the name of Sechal I got it from. I know I didn't install it from a floppy -- I'd have to guess it came on my OS 8.1 CD or maybe my ex-husband installed it way back when. But anyway, even on the HD which has it (which I still boot up with and use on a daily basis), I haven't noticed that my finder windows open particularly quickly.....so I guess I'm baffled about it after all. ~Yersinia. -- PowerBooks is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
