I'm rehabbing a 190 and a 5300 and can use help. Right now we are using 7.6.1 on both. Plan to move up to 8.0 on 190 and 8.5 on 5300. Both have 2rmeg ram installed with RamBoubler 9 and SpeedDoubler 8.1 installed. Primary use will be word processing (both have Appleworks 4 and web when on road we have a PCMCIA card with 2800kb modem and 10 mg Ethernet.
We switched displays to put color on the 5300. The other screen (black and white/grayscale has a small "tear" inside screen on right edge. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A COLOR DISPLAY TO PUT ON THE 19O. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ONE OFF A MACHINE THEY USE FOR PARTS? Also what type of browsers for 7.6 8.0 and 8.5 and where to get them? Also other suggestions as to software and hardware would be appreciated. I am aware of the various issues with these Powerbooks but I got them dirt cheap, have limited expectation and I'm not spending much.
