Regarding the 520c display,

I own a 520c which had a damaged backlight when I purchased it. I tried to replace it with a new backlight, and personally, I'm not sure how that could be managed. It took much work simply to get to the backlight, and once I did, I found that it was soldered onto the connecting wire (or something similar; in any event it wasn't something I could figure out a way to disconnect).

That's all I can tell you, though; I eventually ended up purchasing a whole other 520c display and hooking that up to my 'book, which was very easy.
