Assuming that the battery is dead (I can't test it w/ my voltmeter because it's still boxed up somewhere - stupid boxes from the move!), does anyone know what kind of cells it takes?

It is some sort of standard NiMH (not lithium) pack - I think maybe panasonic(???) - but beware there are two very similar packs. One version is six cells all in a stack. This won't fit. You need the other one that I think differs by 1 single suffix letter, and is 3 stacks of 2 cells side by side if you see what I mean.

really sorry I have binned the info i had on this. I found it with a web search for something like 'backup battery & powerbook' , I remember it was a wierd term they used, didn't talk about PRAM at all.

malcolm at powerbookfanatic <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> had some for sale last year. he is reliable and doesn't charge too much if you really want a new one.
