Hi, proud powerbook owners! I have a question about my 3400c (189 mhz).
It seems to me that the screen is not as bright as it should be. The
brightness switch is cranked up and when I look at the Control Panel for
video and sound it has two settings: standard mac gamma and uncorrected
gamma. The standard mac gamma is brightest, but still not bright enough
for my taste. Is there any way to fix this? It is running system 8.6.
Thankyou,
DS Phelps

backlight almost certainly burning out. bummer. You can fit a new one but i think its easiest to replace the entire screen assembly.
