The problem may be conflicting drivers... Ask the buyer if he may
have been using a Farallon or other Ethernet PC card. There can only
be two Ethernet drivers in the System, and if they use the same name
(Ethernet 0, for instance), then they will conflict and only the
original card will work.
To fix it, he'd have to run the original card's uninstaller.
