Mere speculation:
it emits the "bong" and then noting. No green light nor other activity: just the classic bong. Stop.
I replaced the PRAM battery, same thing.
Tomorrow will try to replace the powerboard for the working unit.
In the meanwhile, is this a symptom of something specific.
