My 3400 is a gem except for a couple of quirks: When battery one is getting low, I shut down, swap batteries, and attempt startup. Nothing happens. It doesn't seem to matter which of the two batteries I swap to, it won't start up. It starts up fine if I plug it in.

Secondly, after I attempt to swap batteries, some of the PRAM settings (date, time, etc.) reset to what must be a default.

It is a PRAM battery problem? I'm familiar with Macs (since 1989) but this is my first PowerBook.

TIA,

Mark
