I use happily Eudora 3 on a PowerBook 100 with 8 MB RAM and a 180 with 10 MB.

I prefer Eudora 3 (which , however, is not a free download) because of the personalities feature.

I used Eudora 1.5 for some time on a PB 180. The 180 is somewhat more powerful than a 170 but not by a lot. It did have, IIRC, 14Mb but I don't think that would be a big issue, I was also running other programs on it. I only used it for mobile access but it worked fine for that.
