Maybe I should try a more specific question.
A quick recap:
I bought a 5300c and was told by the previous owner that it had a bad video
card, that the screen didn't diplay anything. I had a nonworking 5300cs to
take parts from. Before trying to unsolder any thing from the motherboard I
tried just installing the cs screen onto the c. It worked great for about a
week, but now it boots up to a blank screen. Does anybody have an idea
what's going on here?
Question:
Should I try taking the video card from cs and puting it in c? If so, how
should I identify that card?
Well the better choice would be to replace the video card with the Focus LapisColor MV16-EN 5300
which is currently available from Data Memory Systems for $7.95 (before S&H)
This gets you 16 bit video out, more screen resolutions on external monitors and built-in Ethernet.
