Actually, even this won't work reliably. If you have multiple stackable cards installed with the 8MB Apple module in a machine that originally had 4MB, you'll get multiple inexplicable RAM errors at startup. This is why my 1400 is stuck at 60MB, too -- it was a 1400cs/117 originally and that's exactly what happened.
