I took it apart.

There are 12 elements (which resemble AA batteries) connected as a parallel series (+-_+-_+- etc...).

From the small logic board only 4 wires: the neg, the pos, and two yellow that connect the batteries pack to a small round magnet nested between two adjacent batteries (is it a temperature sensor?).

Any help in this subject is welcome.

I was really surprised to see that the content of the battery are actually 12 normal AA batteries. Provided they are normal AA batteries as they are shorter...

Ben

The battery is dead as it is not recognized neither by the PB itself nor by a VTS charger. Mere speculation: if I take it apart with all the precautions what should I look at to see if it is broken? Is there a logic board or else?
