I've been given a PB 1400/166CS and it will not start. It started up several months ago, but it has been sitting for over 5 years. I've tried resetting the PMU & zapping the Pram but nothing happens. Any ideas, am I looking at having to replace the Pram battery?
Any thoughts and help will be appreciated. My PB1400/133 is zipping along nicely. Has anyone used a mapped virtual memory to a 256 mb or larger Compact Flash card plugged into the PC slot with good results?

When you say it does not start do you mean there is no startup sound?
Does the drive spin ?
If the drive spins and the screen is black try pushing the brightness control. My 1400 has had a black screen before
on startup. A PB lister wrote about this habit of 1400s to start with the brightness turned so far down the screen doesn't light up at all.
Also have you reset the button between the ports on the back ?
Otherwise you may well need a PRAM battery or to reseat everything. -- Adrian
