I've used a PowerBook 1400cs at work for some time to run old programs that
OS X classic doesn't like. When I fired it up Tuesday, it shows a funny
patterned screen that is visible even when the power is off. Since this
powerbook often rides in the back of the vehicle, sitting out overnight in
freezing weather, its possible that the screen has died somehow related to
temperature (though I've done the same with a half dozen other powerbooks
over the years with only some fading at the corners of the screen).

Or is there some other issue with these?

I see a 1400c screen on eBay...will it substitute for the cs screen or are
there other hardware differences in the cpu?

Thanks in advance...
