I love text-to-speech, note sure when Apple first included it as an optional
install it might have been with System 7.1 even, I do know that I have been
using it for years and I think since 1991 when I first got a Mac, my Quadra

That said I know of a few other programs that support it. Tex-Edit a
shareware Text Processor, like SimpleText except that it can open large
files. Eudora an Email program, ircle an IRC client, ICQ an instant messaging
program, AOL Instant Messenger {AIM}, and WordPerfect an older and now free
word processor.
