If you modify the card cage, then the Kanga will physically accept a 
PCMCIA card, which is a prereqisite for accepting a USB or Firewire card.

I have had no luck with el cheapo Firewire cards, but the IBM one works 
fine.

Trouble is, the IBM one uses a dongle for each of the two connections.
