well, now it seems the kanga won't boot from the 10.3 disc

10.2 was nice that is worked with the wireless, but 10.3 is nicer. *sigh* I want kanga to recognize some old card that I know it has not before, never did until I put 10.3 on it, lost it when I went to 10.2.8, I can't get it to recognize the pcmcia card...

heh.. I have plenty of machines to run X, but I want a few more. I guess these 20th anniversary's won't run with X, even though it would be nice. OH YEAH the kanga sometimes freezes in 10.. like the mouse will stop moving...

ok.. maybe I was not making myself clear.. with X, it was not supposed to show more than 256 colors, AND the card NEVER worked.

For me your question was pretty clear and straightforward... Probably being not mother tongue I need to read more carefully...

BTW. I assume that Ryan Rempel (the creator of XPF) is a wise guy: I wish the same apple was more realistic in its adds, but this is another story...

For instance I have used XPF on my 7600 with either G3 and G4 processors without a single problem that the "read me" stated. Video, voodoo 3dfx, SCSI devices, even the FW and USB cards were recognized.

The only thing was the lack of internal floppy support, but this is an OS X feature (let's put it in this way...).

So keep experimenting... gone are the times when ONE single extension, or a preference file made the difference... yesterday I installed the scanner driver on my PowerBook G4 and I learnt that the installer put more than 8 thousands files on the Mac HD. Is it still correct to refer to 8000 files simply as driver? But this is OT.

The thing is that the Mac OS X universe is a whole new thing, even more holistic than before.
